Orogenesis Visits Washington DC

Last week with a looming government shutdown we joined the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), Bikepacking Roots, and other mountain bikers from across the country for a visit to Washington DC to talk to our legislators about the importance of the Bicycling On Long-distance Trails (BOLT) Act. This bill has bipartisan support, sailed through the house committee, and would codify ten existing trails and explore the creation of ten new trails over 80 miles in length. Talk about a match made in trail heaven!

Mountain biking requires efforts on all fronts, and while we'd rather be swinging a hoe or wielding a chainsaw, we're excited and grateful to have an impact at the federal level as well.

What can you do? Talk to your representatives and senators about the importance of this bill and why you're excited about it.
